A team of riders from national law firm, Foot Anstey LLP, completed a two-day bike ride in support of the Disasters Emergency Committee's (DEC) Ukraine Appeal. The fundraisers have now raised over £5,000.
The two-day bike ride started on 5 May from Foot Anstey's Truro office and saw the team cycle to Foot Anstey's offices in Plymouth, Exeter, and Taunton before finishing at the firm's Bristol office on 6 May.
The fundraisers used the firm's CSR Hours initiative, which allows employees to take two additional days off per year to support local charitable organisations or initiatives. Individuals were able to donate through the firm's JustGiving page.
The bike ride was part of a series of activities Foot Anstey teams are taking part in to fundraise for the DEC's Ukraine Appeal, including a cake sale in office and payroll giving and a wear blue and yellow day.
Guy Buckland, Executive Director at Foot Anstey, said: "Thank you to everyone who came out on Thursday and Friday last week to make the ride such a great event. Such a tremendous group that it's impossible to single anyone out, from the group who rode every kilometre, those that volunteered to be support drivers and to those who pushed themselves out of their comfort zones, everyone was marvellous"
Imam Qazi, Partner at Foot Anstey and one of the organisers of the bike ride, commented: "Everyone's efforts for this year's Great Foot Anstey Ride was fantastic. The two-day cycle was incredibly challenging, but we pulled together as a team and completed the ride. Thank you to everyone who has donated and showed us support."
