This accessibility statement applies to www.footanstey.com.

This website is run by Foot Anstey LLP. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

• change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
• zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
• navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
• navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
• listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We also try to make the website text as simple as possible to understand.

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. For example:

• many images do not have text alternatives, so people using a screen reader may miss the information they contain
• our podcast episodes do not have transcripts
• some text does not have enough colour contrast to be read easily, and one section of the Pay Now page may not be visible at all
• the cookie consent banner takes screen reader focus each time a page loads
• the menu on mobile devices is difficult to use with a keyboard
• the filter tabs on search results cannot be operated with a keyboard
• when search results, people listings or “load more” content update, the change is not announced to screen reader users
• some forms — including our job application and Pay Now forms — have fields that are not clearly labelled and error messages that are not announced to screen reader users
• some buttons and form fields are difficult to see when using Windows High Contrast mode or other forced-colour display settings

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons, in order of the impact we believe it has on users. We are actively working to fix these issues — see “What we’re doing to improve accessibility” below.

Images and media

Many images across the site — including in articles, on event pages, service pages, contact pages and our careers pages — do not have text alternatives, so the information in them is not available to people using a screen reader. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content). If you come across an image and need to know what it shows, contact us and we’ll describe it or provide the information another way.

Our podcast episodes do not have transcripts, so their content is not available to people who are deaf or hard of hearing. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.1 (audio-only and video-only, prerecorded). If you would like a transcript of a particular episode, contact us and we’ll arrange one.

Colour and contrast

Some text and interface elements do not have enough contrast against their background to be read easily, and the introductory text on the Pay Now page may not be visible at all. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.4.3 (contrast, minimum) and 1.4.11 (non-text contrast). Some form fields and carousel controls are also difficult or impossible to see when using Windows High Contrast mode or other forced-colour settings.

Keyboard and screen reader use

• The cookie consent banner takes screen reader focus each time a page loads, which interrupts reading.
• The menu on mobile devices can be reached when it is closed, cannot be dismissed with the Escape key, and some of its items cannot be reached with a keyboard.
• The category filter tabs on search results cannot be operated with a keyboard.
• Some links and buttons do not show a visible outline when they receive keyboard focus.
• “Jump to section” links move the view but not keyboard focus.
• When search results, people listings or “load more” content update, screen readers do not announce that anything has changed.

These fail WCAG 2.2 success criteria including 2.1.1 (keyboard), 2.4.3 (focus order), 2.4.7 (focus visible) and 4.1.3 (status messages). If you cannot complete something on the website using a keyboard or screen reader, contact us and we’ll help you do it another way.

Forms

Some of our forms — including the job application form and the Pay Now form — have fields whose purpose or instructions are not clearly associated with them, groups of options that are not labelled as a group, and error messages that are not announced to screen reader users. These fail WCAG 2.2 success criteria including 1.3.1 (info and relationships), 3.3.1 (error identification) and 3.3.2 (labels or instructions). If you have difficulty completing a form, contact us by phone and we’ll take the details or arrange an alternative.

There are also a number of smaller issues — such as repeated or non-descriptive link text, some heading levels being out of order, and some page regions not being marked up as landmarks — which we are fixing as part of the same programme of work.

Third-party content

The card payment fields on our Pay Now page are provided by a third-party payment provider inside a frame, and we have not yet been able to verify their accessibility. We are pursuing this with the provider. If you cannot use the Pay Now page, call us on +44 (0)1752 675000 and we’ll arrange another way to pay.

We commissioned an independent accessibility audit of this website in June 2026, carried out by Kyan. We are working through the issues it identified in order of the impact they have on users, and we will update this statement as fixes are released.

This statement was prepared on 1st August 2026. It was last reviewed on 1st August 2026.

This website was last tested in July 2026. The test was carried out by Kyan using a combination of manual testing, assistive technology (including screen readers) and automated tools, against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

We will review and update this statement at least once a year, and whenever significant changes are made to the website.
