Double-digit growth for Foot Anstey as firm hits £43M turnover

Foot Anstey's strong year-on-year growth record has continued with the firm reporting turnover of £43.3m for 2018. This represents growth of 13% since 2016/17 and 80% over the past five years, with turnover more than doubling since 2010.

Revenue from clients within the firm's core industry sectors grew by 26% overall, with the firm's work for retail, energy and property businesses seeing particularly significant growth. In practice areas the Corporate and Real Estate have performed strongly with growth of 18% and 17% respectively.

John Westwell, Managing Partner, Foot Anstey said: "I am delighted that we have had another strong year. This continued growth is the result of our determined focus on our strategy to gain market share through providing a client-centric service and investing in high quality talent.

"We have continued to enhance our client base, working with large well-known brands in all our sectors. For example we've recently extended our panel appointment with Kingfisher plc, as well as winning new work with Cath Kidston, Flybe and Princess Yachts in the last few months. We're also proud of our record of innovation and agility, which has helped us respond to clients' needs.

"The next year will be an exciting one for the firm as we head towards a new strategic period. Our focus will be on looking ahead to ensure we continue to address all the challenges and opportunities affecting modern law firms and distinguish ourselves from the pack."

Significant projects delivered by the firm during the year included: the separation of the firm's clinical negligence brand into a separate business entity, Enable Law; the opening of new permanent office locations in Bristol (2 Glass Wharf) and Southampton (The White Building); and achievement of the National Equality Standard. Enable Law saw 15% growth in its first year as a separate entity.

Duncan, who is a Partner and the firm's Commercial and Financial Director, has been with Foot Anstey since 2009 and already plays a significant role on the management board.
