Meet Vikki Jehu

Vikki is a senior associate in our commercial litigation team. She works on general commercial and corporate disputes, but also has a focus on media related litigation. She tells us what she most enjoys about her role and how she uses her lifestyle hour each week.

What sort of projects do you work on?

I work on a wide variety of commercial disputes to include breach of contract claims, shareholder disputes, reputation and IP related matters and providing general litigation guidance to clients. For example, I am currently working on a breach of contract claim to include defending a substantive counterclaim, an unfair prejudice petition (acting for a minority shareholder) and providing advice notes to international media clients on issues such as advertising guidelines and the benefits and considerations of arbitration vs. Court litigation.

What drives you in your role?

I really enjoy that no two cases are the same and the variety of issues I can get stuck into. I get to drive cases and strategies forward with as much support as needed, from both supervisors and other members of the team assisting with matters. I also really love that I am able to work with lots of different members of my team as well as collaborating with others across the firm – this has been especially beneficial this year during the pandemic.

What is your career highlight?

My career highlight is a secondment to the litigation team of a large media client working on anti-piracy cases and strategy.

What benefit to get from the lifestyle hour?

The weekly lifestyle hour is genuinely a great benefit. I use it for life admin, extended lunches, seeing friends and family or to finish work early on a Friday.

What do you enjoy about living and working in the South West?

The quality of work is really good and I have the great outdoors (from beaches to moors) on my doorstep. I love getting out and about with my dog and 2 year old and I think working in the South West does support a more balanced lifestyle.

What three words would you use to describe the firm to a friend?

Ambitious, genuine and friendly.
