Hannah Coppen’s training highlights

Hannah has always valued the quality of work and client contact she gets at Foot Anstey. She is pleased to have qualified into our Commercial Property Team after training with us.

What appealed to you about Foot Anstey when you applied?

I was looking for a South West firm where I would receive excellent training and exposure to quality work and clients. Foot Anstey ticked these boxes.

What was the highlight of your trainee contract?

During my employment seat I was asked to travel to Newcastle to assist a client with a disciplinary hearing. The client had not conducted a disciplinary before so I was able to provide advice and guide her through the process. I had support from senior members of the employment team by phone if any questions were raised that I was not able to answer. This is just one example of the many opportunities I have had during my training contract to have direct client contact and of the level of trust that is placed on you as a trainee.

What do you like about the culture?

Foot Anstey does not have a jackets on seats culture, I have never felt like I need to stay at my desk for the sake of appearances.

How has your career grown at the firm?

The four months seat rotation enabled me to gather a breadth of experience and learn from some really great teams, so I feel ready to make an informed decision about where I would like to qualify.

I qualified last year into the commercial property team in the Bristol office. I am really enjoying the variety of work and the increased responsibility that comes with being a qualified solicitor. I believe that my training contact at Foot Anstey prepared me well for this next step in my career.
