Foot Anstey technologists celebrate double success in Women in Tech Awards

Congratulations to Ferdie Abdellaoui and Sophie Anderson of our Digital, Data and Technology team, who have both been announced as finalists at Computing's Women in Tech Excellence Awards.

Sophie, our Technology Adoption Manager, made the shortlist in the Role Model of the Year category, a competitive field which includes nominees from the Government Digital Service, Sky and Arsenal Football Club. She gave her reaction to the news:

"I am delighted to have been shortlisted for Role Model of the Year in the Women in Tech 2020 awards.  My role at Foot Anstey is unique, I get to use all my skills in a role that brings technology to life for others. Bringing the human into the technology is key."

Ferdie, a legal engineer with a background in law and programming, has made the final cut for the Rising Star shortlist alongside fellow finalists from Rolls Royce, Accenture and Mumsnet.

Ferdie commented, "It's an honour to be shortlisted for this award alongside so many talented women. Thank you to my colleagues for their support and congratulations to all my fellow nominees."

The award winners will be announced in December at a virtual ceremony hosted by Computing magazine.
