Foot Anstey crowned Fintech Law Firm of the Year 2022 at the Islamic Finance News Law Awards

Foot Anstey LLP has been named the Fintech Law Firm of the Year 2022 at the prestigious Islamic Finance News (IFN) Law Awards.

The IFN Law Awards celebrate and honour the very best firms operating in the sector and represent the current strength of the Islamic Finance market landscape.

Foot Anstey was shortlisted against firms MAQ Legal and K&L Gates.

The awards recognised the firm's work with Nomo part of Bank of London & the Middle East, as well as Nester, a UK property fintech platform, and StrideUp, a digital home finance provider.

The IFN Law Awards' judges described Foot Anstey as "right in the thick of it with its work for Nester and StrideUp". The judges referenced the firm's work with Nester on the development of the fintech platform's products, as well as the tax treatment of these products in the UK noting that the work "supported the entire Islamic fintech space by resulting in a reconsideration by His Majesty's Revenue & Customs and expected amendment of the current rules."

Imam Qazi, Partner and Head of Islamic Finance at Foot Anstey, commented: "This is amazing news.  To be awarded the accolade of Fintech Law Firm of the Year is a tremendous honour and reward for our team's dedication and excellence. Congratulations to all those who won an award and were shortlisted."
