Foot Anstey apprentice wins Weston College Award

Charlie Ashton, Apprentice Legal Administrator at Foot Anstey LLP has been awarded the Professional Services Apprentice of the Year Award at the Weston College Business Awards 2022.

Charlie joined Foot Anstey during the pandemic working from its Bristol office, and is due to complete his apprenticeship in September this year. As an Apprentice Legal Administrator Charlie provides secretarial and administrative support to senior employees at the firm, as well as drafting Deeds of Indemnity and reviewing Non-Disclosure Agreements.

When asked about the award, Charlie said: "Foot Anstey gave me the opportunity to grow and achieve. Joanne Rumley and Hayley Downes at Foot Anstey have been instrumental in my development as they set me up for success from the get-go.

"I am honoured to receive this award as it is recognition of my hard work and my improvement in general. To be considered alongside the other nominees, each with their own inspirational story of success, has changed my perspective of self and has helped me to identify myself as a young professional who can achieve anything if they put their mind to it.

"I'd like to thank Weston College for hosting the evening and Claire Mitchell, my tutor, for providing all the necessary resources required to better my knowledge."

Charlie was put forward for the award by Joanne Rumley, Head of Restructuring and Insolvency at Foot Anstey, who commented: "Charlie has worked tirelessly during his apprenticeship to deliver his college work to a very high standard, whilst at the same time giving 100% and more to developing himself in his working role. His determination to achieve both his qualification and success in his role is an inspiration to those around him."

The Weston College Business Awards celebrate the very best in learner apprentices and employers that offer apprenticeships in the region. This is the first time the awards celebrated the outstanding success of businesses in three years.
