Curious About Law and Finance: Inspiring the next generation

At Foot Anstey, we’re passionate about creating opportunities for young people and helping to shape a more inclusive future for the legal and financial sectors. That’s why we were proud to collaborate with education charity My Future My Choice to launch Curious About Law and Finance - a dynamic new initiative designed to ignite curiosity and inspire future careers.

What is Curious about Law and Finance?

This innovative educational project introduces young people to the world of law and finance through interactive storytelling and creative media. At its core is a unique set of educational cards, co-developed with professionals across both industries. These cards use engaging narratives and relatable real-world scenarios to make complex concepts more accessible -transforming topics that can often seem daunting into something fun, familiar and inspiring.

Students are encouraged to explore the roles and responsibilities within law and finance through activities such as Top Trumps and guided discussions. By doing so, they gain a deeper understanding of these sectors and begin to see themselves in careers they may not have considered before.

Why we got involved

We believe that talent exists everywhere - but opportunity does not. Curious About Law and Finance was created to help bridge that gap, particularly for young people who may not have traditional access to professional networks or career insights. By making these industries more relatable and less intimidating, we aim to break down barriers and widen access to career pathways in law and finance.

This initiative forms part of our broader commitment to community engagement, social mobility, and talent development - empowering the next generation with the confidence, knowledge and tools to aspire to meaningful careers.

The impact so far

The launch event was a huge success. Students took the lead - sparking lively conversations, showcasing their public speaking skills, and immersing themselves in the activities. Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious and left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.

Feedback from educators, students, and professionals was overwhelmingly positive. Many praised how the project brought abstract ideas to life in an engaging way, with several students expressing a newfound interest in legal and financial careers.

But the impact doesn’t stop there. The educational cards are now being distributed more widely, continuing to spark curiosity in schools and youth programmes. With every classroom conversation, Curious About Law and Finance is helping young people see new possibilities - and take the first steps toward bright futures in these vital industries.
