Celebrating dogs in our offices this National Dog Day

Having dogs in the office can help relieve stress, encourage you to take essential breaks and increase interaction with colleagues. In many of our locations we have dedicated 'dog zones' for our people who would like their dog to join them in the office – whether it's on a day they can't get doggy day care, or they're full-time furry colleagues!

This National Dog Day, we asked for of our colleagues how the dogs in the office initiative benefits their dog, themselves and their colleagues.

I can work from the office without having to dash off home to let him out. It also breaks up the day as I can go on a nice walk during lunch which is a nice ‘reset’. Plus, as we have a dedicated dog area in the office, it’s also a good way to get to know other people that you normally wouldn’t see or work with.

Having the ability to bring Lily into the office is a great benefit, especially for days when my husband isn’t at home and we don’t want to leave her home alone. People don’t come to say hello to me in the office, they come to see Lily – which means I get to talk to lots of people and Lily gets plenty of attention!

When Nymera’s in the office with me, we sit in the dog zone so I mix with different teams as it’s not where I usually sit. I speak to a lot more people than I do most other days in the office.

The dogs in the office initiative allows me to have much more flexibility, before I had to plan my days in the office in advance and now, I can just decide the day before and have a lot more freedom. Having Maisie in the office boosts the general mood and Maisie absolutely loves seeing everyone.
