Ben is an experienced commercial litigator specialising in commercial and corporate disputes.

He works on many high value and complex claims such as director and shareholder disputes, professional negligence, fraud-based claims, procurement, contentious insolvency and insurance disputes.

Ben also regularly advises well-known clients in the retail sector, for instance, in relation to issues with suppliers and managing their contracts.

When working on a client matter, Ben always makes sure he spends time understanding the client’s objectives in order to formulate a positive and business-focussed strategy.

Ben’s experience includes:

  • Successfully defending a former director of Bonhams against a claim based on unlawful means conspiracy following the sale of the well-known Violati collection of classic Ferrari and Abarth vehicles.
  • Obtaining judgment for a well-known bank for c. £13million following a breach of covenant and successfully defending a c. £9million counterclaim.
  • Acting for a shareholder following her exclusion from a £multi-million family business, pursuing an unfair prejudice petition and agreeing favourable terms for the purchase of her shares.
  • Urgently applying to Court and obtaining an order lifting the automatic suspension on the award of a business critical IT contract.
  • Acting for a high street retail client defending a threatened £multi-million claim by a well-known social media influencer.
