We've hit our £10,000 fundraising target for the YHA!

We set a goal to raise £10,000 for the Youth Hostels Association (YHA), and we've hit our target four months early!

This financial year, we chose to support the YHA, with the aim of helping up to 250 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access their YHA Breaks Programme. The YHA Breaks Programme offers fully and part-funded trips for groups of young people and families facing challenges that make travel and adventure difficult to access. We aim to donate £50,000, with £10,000 of that target coming from colleague fundraising.

The fundraising journey began with the Foot Anstey Fundraising Festival, which raised over £4,000 through bake sales, a step challenge, and a bike ride from Truro to Bristol. During the festive season, the fundraising efforts were ramped up with a festive quiz, a Silent Auction and a Christmas Jumper Day. This is just a snapshot of the activity our people have taken part in to support our fundraising ambitions.

About hitting our target, Bola Gibson, Executive Director of Responsible Business, shared: “I’m incredibly proud that we’ve reached our target ahead of schedule, and we’re thrilled to be supporting so many young people and families through the YHA’s Breaks Programme. Our ultimate goal is to drive social mobility and we know from the feedback that, for many of these young people, a YHA break can be a lifechanging moment. We’ve hit our target, but the fundraising will continue into 2025 in the hope we can touch more lives.”
