The UAE joins the Madrid System

On 28 December 2021, the United Arab Emirates will become the 109^th member of the Madrid System. This will mean the Madrid System will now cover 125 countries.

Registering a trade mark in the UAE can be a costly process for foreign businesses. The UAE's accession to the Madrid Protocol means they will now be able to apply via the Madrid System through a more streamlined and cost-efficient process.
