Legacy Connect events: a space to connect, collaborate and share insights
Managing legacy portfolios can be rewarding, but it can also present complex challenges that are difficult to navigate alone. Whether you're dealing with a tricky estate administration issue, looking for a fresh perspective on a case, or simply wanting to connect with others in the sector, having a network of peers to turn to can make all the difference.
Hosted by Foot Anstey across our Bristol, Exeter and London offices, Legacy Connect brings legacy professionals together for relaxed, collaborative co-working days designed to encourage conversation, knowledge sharing and relationship building.
Why attend?
Legacy Connect offers the opportunity to spend time alongside fellow professionals who may also be facing many of the same challenges and opportunities.
By joining a session, you can:
- Build connections with peers across the legacy sector.
- Share experiences, ideas and best practice.
- Gain valuable insights from professionals working in similar roles.
- Discuss real-life issues and challenges in an informal setting.
- Access expertise from members of Foot Anstey's Charities and Legacy team.
Some attendees come looking for answers to specific questions, while others simply value the opportunity to exchange ideas with people who understand the realities of legacy administration. Whatever your reason for attending, the day is designed to be flexible, welcoming and useful.
What can you expect from the day?
The format is intentionally simple, allowing you to remain productive while making the most of the opportunity to connect with others.
- Arrive anytime from 10am.
- Bring your laptop (and charger!) and continue with your day-to-day work.
- Enjoy refreshments throughout the day.
- Join fellow attendees for lunch at around 12.30pm.
- Take part in a topical workshop and discussion session.
- Finish up and head home at around 4pm.
The value of conversation
Some of the most valuable outcomes from Legacy Connect come from informal discussions. In a recent session, a legacy professional from a national charity spoke with one of our Associates in the Charities and Private Wealth Disputes team about a complex probate issue, including uncertainty around whether a charity could step in and take necessary action. Our Associate took the time to explain that they absolutely could and how the process works in practice. As a result of this conversation, the charity got greater insight into their issue, helping them move forward with confidence.
While every attendee's experience is different, these interactions highlight the purpose of Legacy Connect. A single conversation can help solve a problem, spark a new idea, provide reassurance, or lead to a valuable new professional relationship.
