Foot Anstey appoints two new partners amidst drive for national growth

Fiona Campbell-White from Wilsons and Matt Spencer from Kingsley Napley join Foot Anstey’s partnership as part of the firm’s ambitious growth strategy

National law firm Foot Anstey is today announcing the appointments of Fiona Campbell-White from Wilsons and Matt Spencer from Kingsley Napley as partners. These hires will strengthen the firm’s support for corporate and private clients.

Fiona joins Foot Anstey following over 16 years at Wilsons as an industry leading contentious trust and probate litigator. She brings with her an exceptional reputation for her work on legacy disputes, particularly in the charity sector, experience she will leverage to further consolidate and grow the firm’s existing contentious trust and probate offering.

Matt joins Foot Anstey’s nationally recognised corporate practice as a tax specialist, having previously headed the tax team at Kingsley Napley. In his new role, he’ll be working with several of Foot Anstey’s teams, with a focus on the tax aspects of corporate matters (including M&A, restructuring and incentives), real estate,  (across development, landlord/tenant and residential/commercial purchases) and employment, including termination payments and IR35. Before his time at Kingsley Napley, he spent nearly ten years as a solicitor at DAC Beachcroft.

These appointments follow a string of high-profile hires for Foot Anstey this year, including ex-Boohoo General Counsel Tom Kershaw, who most recently joined the Retail & Consumer team in the Manchester office.  Foot Anstey’s partnership is growing in tandem with the firm’s national expansion as it joined forces with Belfast-based commercial law firm McKees earlier this year in its first step out of England.

This ambitious firmwide growth accompanies a run of exciting initiatives and schemes, including the announcement of a three-year strategic partnership with Young Enterprise to help tackle social mobility. The partnership forms part of Foot Anstey’s commitment to invest at least 1% of its net profits into responsible business. The firm has also just announced its upgraded parental leave package, which now offers workers six months parental leave regardless of their gender.

Fiona Campbell-White, newly appointed partner at Foot Anstey, comments: “I’m so pleased to be joining the team at Foot Anstey to enhance their already fantastic reputation in the charities and private wealth sectors. Foot Anstey has ambitious growth plans and I’m excited to be a part of that journey as the partnership continues to grow.”

Matt Spencer, newly appointed partner at Foot Anstey, comments: “I am thoroughly looking forward to working with the talented professionals across Foot Anstey and providing a comprehensive tax advisory service to the firm’s impressive client base and beyond.”
