Mark is a property lawyer with strong expertise in residential and commercial development and real estate matters.

He advises residential and commercial developers in relation to development projects and also has extensive experience in the Build to Rent (BTR) sector where he advises developers and BTR landlords.

His experience includes providing expert advisory services on major real estate projects, including site acquisitions, site assembly, funding and disposal, investment purchases and asset management for developers and Local Authorities.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys cycling, Formula 1 and spending time with his family.

Expertise

  • Advising a BTR developer and landlord on a joint venture involving multiple redevelopment projects around London, including complex title and structuring issues.
  • Acting for a developer on a complex site acquisition and site assembly for a major industrial-led mixed-use redevelopment site. This involved multiple landowners, option agreements and conditional elements with buy-back provisions and price adjustment mechanisms.
  • Acting for a listed developer on complex lease structuring, funding, and disposals to occupiers of a major mixed-use scheme in Brighton.
  • Advising a Local Authority on a multi-let commercial office portfolio. This has included the initial acquisition and subsequent lettings and lease re-gears.
  • The purchase of a shopping centre for a Local Authority and subsequent management, lettings, lease structuring and re-gearing and advice relating to future redevelopment.
  • Advising in relation to the acquisition of a significant West London mixed-use regeneration site.
  • The purchase of a major central London residential-led development site for the construction of around 260 units.
