Katie manages our Bristol Plot Sales Team. Her own caseload includes acting for Housing Associations, Developers, Charities and Local Authorities.
Katie has over 10 years’ experience dealing with open market and shared ownership sales as well as a wide range of other services that include right to buy/acquire, receivership sales, lease extensions, resales, staircasing and purchases.
Relevant experience:
- Creating a process and precedent documents for a Housing Association client who had not previously dealt with right to acquire sales.
- Completing a deed of modification of restrictive covenants to allow a garage to be constructed.
- Advising – with support from our Real Estate Disputes Team – what should be disclosed as part of an auction disposal where a Claim had been issued by a neighbouring property owner with regards to our client carrying out works which had caused alleged damage.
- Dealing with a lease extension for a Landlord client where the Freehold title is unregistered.
- Advising a Housing Association client on the process for staircasing at their sweat-equity/self-finish development where the purchasers earn additional equity following completion of their purchase by carrying out work on their property and other properties on site.
- Purchasing a parcel of land subject to planning permission for an individual client to construct their retirement home.
- Advising – with support from our Real Estate Disputes Team – a developer client on an age restricted (retirement) site on the process for, and reputational risks involved in, pursuing specific performance under a plot sales contract where the purchaser was terminally ill.
