Foot Anstey recognised as a Top 75 Employer in the Social Mobility Employer Index 2025

Foot Anstey is proud to announce it has ranked 71st in this year's Social Mobility Employer Index (SMEI).
The index is an industry-recognised benchmarking tool measuring a business's performance in relation to social mobility, which is typically defined as "the link between a person's life chances and the background they have grown up in". The index looks across eight distinct areas, from recruitment practices and routes offered, to how firms motivate and retain employees.
The announcement comes a year after Foot Anstey’s commitment to invest 1% of net profits into its responsible business agenda, which forms a key part of the firm's growth ambitions. Core to this is creating a culture where everyone can thrive – from shaping recruitment processes and practices to enable people from all backgrounds to access opportunities at the firm, to establishing a Social Mobility focused employee network.
Following the results, the firm is now looking to implement a series of recommended actions to strengthen their approach further. This will add to their ongoing efforts to foster and grow an inclusive culture, where potential comes first.
Martin Hirst, Managing Partner commented that "Social mobility is something I'm personally very passionate about and one of the priorities we identified when defining our Responsible Business approach. I'm proud to see us rank in our first ever SMEI submission. To us, this is more than just a ranking, it's a way of measuring our progress and understanding how we can drive improvement based on best practice."
