The future of recruiting into the UK post Brexit
With less than 40 days until the UK officially leaves the EU, businesses need to consider how the new immigration rules will affect them.
With less than 40 days until the UK officially leaves the EU, businesses need to consider how the new immigration rules will affect them. One of the key changes will be the end of free movement of people, and businesses need to make sure that they understand how they can recruit talent from overseas post Brexit.
From 1 January 2021, EU/EEA and Swiss nationals arriving in the UK will be subject to the UK's new immigration points-based system. This means that there will be a "one size fits all" approach for hiring EU and non-EU nationals from this date. The main "skilled worker" route will require businesses to have a sponsorship licence in place before they can make an offer of employment to a non-British national.
Our on-demand webinar looks at the main considerations for employers when looking to hire post Brexit and will provide insight into key issues including:
- The EU Settlement Scheme and key dates
- Right to Work Checks, the current temporary position and the future outlook
- Overarching principles of the UK's new points-based immigration system
- The main changes under both the Skilled Worker and Intra-Company Transfer routes
- Sponsorship licence applications and how to apply
- Other available visa routes
We hope the webinar and resources provide some helpful guidance. Please get in touch if you have any further queries.
