The latest in the UKHMA Seminar series moved to a virtual platform and on Thursday 3 December former Association President Bob Baker (Chief Harbour Master, Port of London) and Tim Williamson, Maritime Regulatory lawyer at Foot Anstey LLP hosted the latest session.

Bob and Tim's webinar focused on the importance of developing a plan for responding to a critical incident in port and drew on lessons from an investigation into an fatal incident in 2011. That incident led to an MCA prosecution in the Crown Court last year, which lasted over 7 weeks but culminated with Not Guilty verdicts being returned on all counts and in respect of all those involved.

Bob and Tim provide a practical insight into that case and into what lessons Ports can learn from the lengthy and complex process.
