Diversity and Inclusion: Time for positive change

Recent news, campaigns and events, particularly the move towards more flexible working, have made many businesses take the time to re-examine diversity and inclusion within their organisations. This is a positive first step but after the initial discussions how do organisations implement change within the business on a practical level?

On 7 October we held a virtual Q&A panel discussion which brought together a group of inclusion experts with expertise in transgender, race and disability who discussed and provided insight on key business issues as well as practical implementation advice. The session was chaired by Karen Bates and Lisa Wallis, Foot Anstey employment law specialists.

From societal impact to business competitive advantage, why does this topic matter so much? What is the lay of the land? What are the best practices? What are the challenges in this field and opportunities looking ahead?

Our panellists considered these matters and answered audience questions as well as discussing what they have learned about creating more diverse workplaces, as advocates, consultants, and within their own companies, to give a holistic view of inclusion in the workplace.
