The ports sector is vital to UK PLC, facilitating 95% of our global trade and representing £500 billion in value every year. The sector directly employs over 100,000 people, supports countless communities and is playing a vital role in our growing offshore energy industry.

Additionally, freeports represent a unique opportunity to attract inward investment and support underserved areas across the UK.

This conference showcased details of major ports development and investment projects and explored key issues including supply chain resilience, the move to net-zero, nature recovery & biodiversity net gain, the rollout of the freeports programme and the roll the sector can play in regeneration.

Foot Anstey, was delighted to be involved as a sponsor for this Built Environment Networking event. Our Head of Strategic Infrastructure Planning, Christian Silk, chaired the session focused on Net Zero Development Plans and Nature Recovery in the Ports Sector.
