The green building revolution

The green building revolution will be low carbon, beautiful and speedy. Amazing start to ban gas boilers for new homes from 2025, mandate shorter timeframes for planning decisions and to set a national design code which promotes green standards. We await the government putting flesh on the bones of its proposals and to accelerate green finance in the housing sector to really drive the much needed decarbonisation of the housing  sector which accounts for 1/3 of all CO2 emissions in the UK.  

Unveiled by the Housing Secretary, Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP, the Future Homes Standard will see polluting fossil fuel heating systems such as gas boilers banned from new homes by 2025 and replaced with the latest generation of clean technology – such as air source heat pumps and cutting-edge solar panels.
