Foot Anstey advised on the acquisition by Lord Alli and his new international group, Silvergate Media, of the rights to The World of Beatrix Potter and the Octonauts. These were the first assets to be sold by the media rights business Chorion following the decision by its senior bankers to break up the business, under a competitive process with an accelerated timescale.
breach of privacy
Foot Anstey advised a global picture agency with principal offices in London and Los Angeles in respect of a breach of privacy claim brought by Kate Middleton and her family, as a result of the alleged activities of a paparazzo.
Although the claim was marginal, the agency decided to settle the claim as a result of a combination of the legal, financial, and commercial considerations. The terms of settlement are confidential, but the settlement involved no admission of liability.
