Mutuals and Insurers
The way an insurance company's policy is made up and marketed including those sold by friendly societies is an area increasing attention from the FCA. Added to this are the increasing capital requirements of Solvency II which is putting pressure on some parts of the sector to develop or consolidate.
We act for insurers and mutual societies of all shapes and sizes. Our clients are national. We have particular expertise and experience with numerous friendly society clients.
Our expertise lies across regulatory compliance and corporate governance for smaller insurance providers and mutual societies not only in their corporate structure and Rules but in the policy wording of and structure of their products and in the way they gain customers through affinity or appointed representative sales. We also have experience of transfers of books of business by way of Part VII FSMA or under the 1992 Friendly Societies Act.
Our team also deal in intellectual property, data protection, IT and technology contracts and other commercial matters involved in the day to day running of insurance companies and mutual societies.
