Tris is a senior associate in the Construction and Engineering team acting on projects nationally and internationally. He advises employers, consultants and contractors on all aspects of construction and engineering disputes and is very experienced in adjudication, arbitration and litigation. He specialises in defending and pursuing disputes against and for main contractors and sub-contractors as well as architects, engineers and other construction professionals.
He has a wealth of experience in NEC, JCT and FIDIC forms of contract and regularly deals with issues such as defects, design responsibility, delay and associated costs, interim applications, final accounts and fee recovery. An example of recent experience includes successfully pursuing a major national contractor in adjudication for defectively installed roof membranes on a new commercial development following the complete failure of the membrane. His additional work highlights include acting for a major international contractor in a series of adjudications relating to the regeneration of a major overseas port and defending an architect in a significant piece of technology and construction court litigation.
Tris is a committee member of Constructing Excellence South West and also an active member of the Society of Construction Law and the Building forum for Devon and Cornwall. Tris regularly hosts various external seminars and training sessions.
