Lucy leads the legacy and trust disputes team and has a comprehensive track record in the charities sector having acted for many large national charities. Lucy also acts for trustees, executors and beneficiaries.
Lucy specialises in resolving disputed legacies, trusts and estates including Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims, will validity disputes (including testamentary capacity, undue influence and fraud), applications concerning the interpretation and construction of wills, applications concerning the doctrine of cy-pres, proprietary estoppel claims, professional negligence claims (arising out of advice regarding trusts, wills and estates), breach of trust (including failure to invest a trust fund or sell a share portfolio) and executor issues (such as failure to pay a legacy, obtaining estate accounts, scrutinizing administrators fees).
Cases of note include the reported case of Gill v RSPCA  EWHC 2990 (Ch) and the subsequent appeal.
Lucy works closely with the firm's dispute resolution, private wealth and mental capacity teams to provide a seamless service to clients.
Lucy is a member of Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and an affiliate of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), having completed the advanced certificate in Trust Disputes.
