Premier law firm Foot Anstey has completed six land acquisition sites for local housing association, Coastline Housing.
The sites in Stithians, Crowntown, Mullion, Connor Downs, St Day and North Roskear, will be used to develop over 130 new homes, providing much needed support for the region's affordable housing sector.
Led by partner Georgina Savill, Foot Anstey's social housing team handled all the requirements for the six sites, including acquisition and planning. Rachel Langley, senior associate, worked on the majority of these sites and her secondment with Coastline is also ensuring a robust relationship.
Georgina Savill said: “Acquiring these new sites means Cornwall's local community, families and individuals are able to continue to live and thrive in the county. Housing associations play an important role in the county where salaries and rising housing costs are not comparable. Our work in partnership with Coastline on these developments will go some way to counteract the housing problems in the county."
Coastline Housing had a busy end to the year and successfully started on site on a number of new affordable housing sites. Matt Ward, head of development at Coastline, said: “We were really pleased with the way Foot Anstey worked with us to achieve these starts on site and ensure we can provide new affordable homes for local people. Through the joint working with Foot Anstey on sites in Mullion, St Day, Crowntown, Connor Downs and Camborne, Coastline was able to secure almost £3.5m of grant funding and start work on 107 new homes. We look forward to working with Foot Anstey on other projects in the future.”
