Corporate

Bristol, Southampton, Oxford, Exeter, Plymouth,

Apply now

Our Corporate team has enjoyed significant growth and success in recent years and we expect for this to continue for the foreseeable future. In order to keep up with client demand and further build our client base, we are seeking an experienced Corporate lawyer to join our Private Equity team. Working directly with lead Partner Matt Stoate, you will support a wide range of institutional investors, management teams, investee and portfolio companies and banks on the full life cycle of private equity transactions. You will also work closely with our leading Islamic Finance team.

Clients tell us that we not only provide high quality legal advice but also corporate finance execution skills and longer term perspectives. We understand that equity in the business has an emotional value beyond the financial and know our way around issues that can occur on private equity transactions based on our deal experience.

This is an exciting opportunity as you will have genuine scope to fast track your career within a team with a proven track record of developing and progressing its lawyers.  We do not operate with glass ceilings and your career progression will be entirely on merit and under your control.  We operate a national service line approach and the quality of work you are given is in no way impacted by your location. If you are the best person for the client you will work with them.

We have fully embraced both agile and flexible working; we value output not presenteeism, which means there is time to fit your lifestyle with your work commitments. We offer every employee a weekly life style hour to use as they wish, no questions asked. You'll have free fruit, access to treadmill walking desks to boost your creativity or you could just join one of the numerous running clubs. Whatever it is we recognise that you will spend a lot of time at work and we want you to be happy and comfortable in order to be at your best. We are open to discussing flexible working patterns for all of our vacancies.

What you'll do

You will be central to the continued success of the team, managing your own caseload and driving business development initiatives.  You will take a solutions led approach, listening to the clients' challenges and providing a bespoke, premium solution. You will advise on transactions throughout the UK as well as internationally.  Examples of projects you will work on include advising a management team on a mid market private equity backed MBO as on an EIS compliant fundraising by a start up venture.

What we need

This will be a challenging and demanding role, working to tight deadlines and supporting highly valued clients. In order to be a success you will demonstrate the following:

  • An extensive private equity track record gained within a leading corporate practice.
  • You will be client centric. We measure our success on our clients' success and you will ensure your clients are at the heart of your service.
  • A passion for business development. There is a large caseload for you to walk into, however, you will be driven to develop your client base further in line with our sector strategy.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this role, please contact our Recruitment Team via email in the first instance, and we will come back to you as soon as we can: [email protected]
