Senior Associate – Real Estate Developers

Real Estate Group

Bristol or Exeter

Apply now

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Senior Associate with a housing developer focus to join our successful and highly regarded Developers sector team, with a blend of office and home working available based around client and business need. This is a superb opportunity for an ambitious and capable senior lawyer to play a key role in the delivery of our growth strategy for Real Estate in the business.

What you'll do
In this challenging and varied role, you will play an important role in our highly successful Developers sector team as it continues to grow. Based from our Bristol or Exeter office, you will be leading on matters directly whilst supervising junior members (who may be based elsewhere), and sharing work across the region in collaboration with the wider Real Estate team. Your focus will be to deliver exceptional client service, working with colleagues to strengthen the skills needed at each level to ensure our clients receive all the support they need, when they need it. You will be working with Patrick Wetherall and the wider team to advise our housing developer clients, and you will be adept at handling large and complex matters with clients, ensuring work is being done at the right level and with client service central to everything you do. We'll expect you to be experienced in developing strong and effective relationships, offering commercially relevant and practical advice from the outset.

What we're looking for
With extensive recent experience working with housing developer clients at a senior level within a Real Estate team, you will be seeking to take the next step in your career, where you can enhance your profile and create new and lasting connections with clients. We're seeking someone who is personally self motivated and equally able to motivate others, with the enthusiasm and commitment to share knowledge and build capacity across the wider team. In your current work, you will be a strong business developer, able to engage with new clients whilst expanding existing relationships as a trusted business advisor. You do this by readily understanding the commercial context of your clients and appreciate the importance of supporting them with relevant advice at the right moment. You will have already worked hard to begin building your profile in the region, and are positive and active in engaging with a variety of business development opportunities within the region's Real Estate network.

You will possess strong communication and rapport building skills, with the resilience to work under pressure by organising yourself effectively to meet deadlines as needed. Being tenacious, thorough and attentive to detail whilst appreciating the 'bigger picture' for your clients, you take pride in the high standards of your work. In return for your considerable efforts, we are fully committed to working with you to unlock your potential and take your career where you want it to go.

Our offer to you
In return for your efforts, you can expect considerable scope for personal as well as professional development. Tailored to match the level you're working at, we encourage people to engage with our popular and well supported coaching and mentoring programmes, which connect you to people right across the firm and at every level. We create space for mental and physical wellbeing with our weekly Lifestyle Hour, along with private medical insurance for all lawyers, 28 days annual leave and a sabbatical you can take every 5 years. Employees can also buy and sell holiday, managing your benefits flexibly using our sophisticated portal to configure your total reward offer according to what you value most. As part of this, you can make ongoing or one-off donations to our charitable foundation and access our CSR programme where you can engage with community-based initiatives (as a team, or individually) twice a year, to give something back where you feel it matters.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this role, please contact our Recruitment Team via email in the first instance, and we will come back to you as soon as we can: [email protected]
