We are excited to be recruiting a motivated and experienced Private Client Associate to join our enthusiastic Tax & Succession team, based in Southampton. 

What you'll do

Working with Rachel Brooks and her team in Southampton, in collaboration with the wider UK Tax and Succession team across the firm, you will be using your skills and knowledge to work with some independence, whilst accessing support and encouragement as and when you need it. You will be working with a variety of high net worth private clients, many of whom have rural estates, with a focus on probate administration, drafting of wills, tax planning and trust advice. As part of a team including Partners, Senior Associates, a Solicitor and Paralegals, you will work to develop strong and lasting relationships with your clients, understanding their needs and preferences and seeking to deliver the highest standards of client service and experience in every interaction. We actively encourage every member of the team to engage with business development opportunities and take part in networks which are such an integral part of this area of practice. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain more experience in supervising juniors in the team, whilst being able to continue your own journey of progression and development. As such, you will play a key role in contributing towards the continuing success of the team in Southampton and the firm's wider Private Wealth offering.

What we're looking for

With an aptitude for the technical nature of private client work, and an enthusiasm for building lasting relationships with a range of clients, you have already gained good experience in a similar sized firm and are ready for the next step in your career. You will be a natural communicator with the proven ability to forge strong and effective relationships with clients, and you may have gained experience working specifically with high net worth clients already. You will understand and appreciate some of the considerations and issues our clients face, and have a commercial and pragmatic outlook to providing appropriate and well informed advice. Over time, you will have the opportunity to learn from senior lawyers in the team, who are ideally placed to support you in enhancing your commercial understanding, and how to proactively work with clients to meet their needs.

Being motivated to deliver an exemplary service to clients every day, you are keen to progress your career and already work with a degree of independence, which we will further support. In addition, you will be keen to share your knowledge with juniors in the team, providing them with support when needed as part of your own professional development and career progression. As you can tell, it's important to us that you are team focussed, and enthusiastic about working collaboratively across the wider Private Wealth sector in order to seek out business opportunities whilst prioritising excellent client service.
