Apply nowDue to our continuing growth and focus on our people, we are delighted to be expanding our Talent Development Team, creating a new Early Careers Advisor role based in either Southampton, or Bristol. Reporting to and supporting the Early Careers Manager, you will together be responsible for the day-to-day experience of early careers colleagues across the firm, supporting the successful roll out of our early careers strategy and ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic priorities. You will enhance the early careers experience and brand both internally and externally and seek and promote opportunities for professional development throughout the business ensuring employees have the information, resources and development opportunities they need to flourish.
This is a varied role where among other themes, you will be focused on:
- providing practical early careers advice and support to individuals
- supporting early careers programmes across the firm, including our trainee solicitors, trainee legal executives and apprentices, aligning programmes with future business needs and supporting a diverse pipeline of experience
- supporting the end-to-end early careers process from attraction, engagement, sourcing and assessment centres to offer stage, in conjunction with team members and business partners
- supporting the early careers operational and development function, as well as the early careers experience, alongside the Early Careers Manager and further stakeholders
- collating and reporting performance metrics to the Early Careers Manager/stakeholders
What we need
This is a great opportunity to support our Early Careers Manager with the direction of travel, development and operational management for our early careers offering. We are looking for:
- proven successful experience working in a similar role, ideally within a law /professional services environment
- a good awareness of the early careers lifecycle from attraction to ongoing learning and development and retention
- strong organisational skills, with experience of managing projects in a fast-paced environment
- confident communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels with stakeholders/candidates/employees
- confident IT skills (MS Office)
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- the ability to champion diversity and inclusion as a core value of the business, influencing with best practice and strategy
- the ability to spot opportunities to improve our processes, and collaboratively create/suggest new approaches which meet business needs and strategic priorities
- a passion for early careers development, talent management and learning
- a great team ethic
