Based in Plymouth, Exeter, or Bristol; with a blend of office and home working available based around client, career, and community. This is a superb opportunity to progress your career, working with high quality clients as part of an encouraging and supportive team.
The Energy, Projects, Infrastructure, and Construction (EPIC) team at Foot Anstey, which is ranked and recommended in the inaugural Legal 500 Green Guide UK, has huge experience in the renewable / clean energy field and are recognised leaders in the industry. You will be someone we can invest in to help us to build and grow the contentious construction practice and you will be proactive and ambitious for its success. You’ll be keen to progress, and we will work with you to ensure you realise your potential by agreeing realistic and achievable goals which will get you to where you want to go.
What you’ll do
From the outset, you will be involved in a range of innovative energy, project, infrastructure and construction disputes matters, encompassing all forms of risk management, strategic advice and dispute resolution including adjudication, litigation and arbitration.
You can expect to be using your existing skills and knowledge to work with independence where you feel comfortable doing so, while benefiting from support as needed from senior lawyers on more complex matters. We will actively encourage you to develop your skills and confidence over time, whether with client contact and business advisory expertise or with the supervision and development of more junior members of the team. If you enjoy client development opportunities, there is considerable scope to engage and to develop or enhance your profile.
What we’re looking for
The team already boasts a wealth of experience acting on significant national and international projects and in growing the team we are looking for future leaders who will help us continue to expand our practice. You will be team orientated and enjoy collaboration across immediate and wider teams, as well as working with colleagues across the firm. We’re an enthusiastic, personable and grounded team that enjoys working together to deliver great solutions to our clients, both remotely and through working together in person.
With recent experience working as part of a busy contentious construction or similar team, you will be seeking to take the next step in your career, where you can enhance your profile and create new and lasting connections with household name clients. We’re seeking someone who is motivated and equally able to motivate others, with the enthusiasm and commitment to share knowledge and build capacity across the wider team. You will have an interest in one of our specialisms, whether that is renewable energy, developers, infrastructure, modern methods of construction, nuclear, retail or one of Foot Anstey’s other core areas.
Our offer to you
In return for your efforts, you can expect considerable scope for personal as well as professional development. We encourage people to engage with our popular and well supported coaching and mentoring programmes, which connect you to people right across the firm and at every level. You can also buy holiday, managing your benefits flexibly using our sophisticated portal to configure your total reward offer according to what you value most. As part of this, you can make ongoing or one-off donations to our charitable foundation and access our CSR programme where you can engage with community-based initiatives (as a team, or individually) twice a year, to give something back where you feel it matters.
Successful applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment screening process which includes a financial integrity check and a DBS check.
