The role

We are currently seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Real Estate Solicitor or Associate (NQ – 4 years PQE) to join our growing Commercial Property team. Based from Truro with a blend of home and office working available to you, this is an excellent opportunity to work directly with Managing Associate Rachel Langley and other members of the team on a variety of commercial property matters, with a focus on working with developers.

You will be working within a team which acts for well-known regional and national social housing providers and developers on matters relating to the acquisition of sites and regeneration for which the department has a superb reputation, both locally and further afield. Within a busy team, and mutually supportive environment you will enjoy high quality, high value work. You will work collaboratively with our planning, construction and plots sale teams.

We will provide you with the support to develop your skills and confidence, enabling you to manage your own caseload with supervision and taking responsibility for a range of tasks. As this role has a developer focus, you will be encouraged to develop strong and lasting professional relationships with our developer clients, and gain the insights and expertise needed to offer hands on, practical advice to them on an ongoing basis.

What we're looking for

With recent experience across a range of commercial property transactions, you will be seeking to expand your skills and knowledge whilst benefiting from the support of your supervisor and team. You may have already gained exposure to working with regional and national developers, or perhaps have broader commercial property experience but have an interest in the developers sector.
You'll be personally motivated to continue developing your skills with clients, seeking to understand the commercial context of their business and gaining confidence in order to provide relevant advice at the right moment. With your ability to forge lasting relationships with clients, you will be keen to create opportunities to begin building your profile, engaging with a variety of business development opportunities within the developer sector.

You will possess strong communication and rapport building skills, with the resilience to work under pressure by organising yourself effectively to meet deadlines as needed. Being tenacious, thorough and attentive to detail whilst appreciating the 'bigger picture' for your clients, you take pride in the high standards of your work. You may be a newly or recently qualified Solicitor looking for the next step in your career, or an Associate seeking to work with a wider variety of high quality clients with more exposure to complex work in order to broaden your skills. The recruitment process

Once shortlisted, we typically undertake a two-stage interview process, and naturally much of this is done via Microsoft Teams, though some in person interviews and meetings are beginning to take place.
