We are looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Commercial Litigation team in Bristol.  Supporting Mark Rhys-Jones and the wider Dispute Resolution group, this will be an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded team, helping to shape and develop client relationships and enhance our profile in the local market.

What you'll do

You will deal with a broad range of Commercial Litigation work.  Our clients range from large multinationals and financial institutions through to local owner-managed businesses and SMEs and we advise regularly on both domestic and international disputes. Clients include Welsh Water, Welcome Break, Ovo Energy and a high street bank.

You will be joining a team who offer a depth of experience and insight acting for clients in both claimant and defendant roles, often balancing regulatory compliance, media scrutiny and “bottom -line” commercial drivers.  We always consider wider industry circumstances and the organisational requirements and priorities. 

Considering these angles means that we are very sensitive about our client's approach to disputes and in every case- we aim to deliver the highest level of care that City headquartered firms cannot always guarantee. 

What we're looking for

  • At least 4 years pqe
  • Experience in general Commercial Litigation work and running your own caseload
  • An interest in Business Development, networking and enhancing our local presence
  • Financial ombudsman experience will be beneficial, but isn't essential
  • Relevant experience in one of our key sectors would be of interest (e.g Retail & Consumer, Banking & Finance, Energy & Infrastructure)
