Real Estate

Development

We have one of the largest and most highly specialised real estate development teams nationally. Our high quality and experienced team understand the dynamics and economics of real estate development.

We act on all stages of the development lifecycle and from all sides of the project be it developers, house builders, promoters, landowners, funders, tenants, investors, occupiers or local planning authority.   Having this broad experience provides us with valuable insight into a project and enables us to anticipate issues before they arise. Our aim is to offer a personal and cost effective service.

Development projects are usually costly and time critical. Successful projects require confidence and understanding between all of the parties and their advisors. Unlike many competitors, we concentrate on developing our knowledge of each project and getting the personal relationships right. We offer clear and competitive fee structures, utilising innovative fee arrangements which give our clients the comfort and certainty on the costs which are so important when planning and controlling project expenditure.

We advise on a full range of development projects, large or small. The range of work which we undertake includes co-location, development funding, development structures, estate management and services, infrastructure and site lay out, land assembly, master planning, options, overage and uplift, plot sales, promotion, property projects and accommodation programmes, renewable and ESCOs, strategic site assessment, and sustainable development and regeneration. We also work with clients on lock out and exclusivity arrangements, negotiating heads of terms, conditional contracts, joint ventures and land pooling trusts.

Our team's CV includes acting on some of the biggest and most exciting development projects undertaken in recent years. Highlights include acting on the £5.5b Thameslink Programme and the Eden Project. As well as our real estate development experts, our team includes specialist planners, property litigators, construction, environment, procurement and projects lawyers. Other lawyers can be drawn in from other areas as and when required.
