Tuesday, 29 November 2011

Foot Anstey LLP has advised Celeste Copper Corporation on the UK elements of its significant investment into the South Crofty Mine based at Pool, near Redruth. The investment is the first pursuant to an earn-in agreement under which Celeste may acquire up to a 100% interest in Cornish Minerals Limited, which indirectly owns the property and assets known as the South Crofty Mine. Celeste has acquired an 18% interest in the development of South Crofty mine, and Norman Brewster, president and CEO of Celeste, will take a seat on the Cornish Minerals’ board. Celeste has plans to continue exploration and development activities at South Crofty Mine with an objective to take the project into production.

Celeste is a listed Canadian mining exploration and development company with ownership and operational interests in international tin and copper projects. Celeste has copper, gold and silver properties located in Chile’s Cabeza de Vaca mineral district where it undertakes an exploration program to advance these projects. Celeste shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange.

Norman Brewster, President and CEO, Celeste Copper Corporation said:

“We needed UK legal counsel who understood how to work on an international project involving Canadian listed company elements. The Foot Anstey team led by Chris Worrell were able to demonstrate that from day one, helping us to structure the requirements for UK and Canadian legal input as well as managing the UK aspects of the deal.

The Foot Anstey team provided the level of positive and practical advice we expect from our lawyers, working effectively with the board of Celeste and our team of advisers and investors lawyers in Canada.”

Chris Worrell, lead partner said:

“We are delighted to have assisted in a significant development for Cornwall’s mining industry. Cornwall has a very long and proud mining history and we are excited by Celeste’s plans to develop this historic and prolific mine and bring tin mining back to the forefront in Cornwall.”

The Foot Anstey team was led by Chris Worrell, corporate partner with assistance from Richard Sutton and Matthew Smith, property partners.
