Construction, Engineering and Projects
Foot Anstey has the specialist knowledge and depth of experience to provide the support which clients need on construction projects big or small and irrespective of whether the client is the employer/building owner, main sub-contractor, sub-contractor or a consultant. This support is provided from the start of a project through to its conclusion and beyond.
We have the experience to provide clients be they individual or commercial with the highest quality of advice whatever the nature of the project. Of overriding importance to us is ensuring that clients achieve their objectives whilst keeping costs to a minimum. Where obstacles and problems do arise, our job is to provide the most practical solutions which get clients to where they want to be.
With experience in all types of construction procurement, we are able to provide the following services before and during a project:
- Procurement methodology
- The negotiation of building and engineering contracts and sub-contracts (bespoke and standard form)
- Collateral warranties
- Professional appointments
- Novations
- Performance bonds and parent company guarantees
- Health and safety issues
- Advice on PFI arrangements
Our approach is wherever possible to anticipate and avoid disputes. However, if issues do arise at any stage during a project or after, we do all that we possibly can to put clients in the very best position at the outset whatever form of dispute resolution is to be adopted (adjudication, arbitration, litigation or some form of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation).
We have experience in all kinds of construction and engineering disputes including:
- Defects claims
- Claims for delay and disruption and loss expense.
- Claims for breach of construction contracts
- Professional negligence by construction professionals
In conducting disputes, our priority is achieving an effective and commercially sound result for the client. If we think the client’s case has limitations, we will tell them at the outset and seek to achieve the best possible settlement with the minimum of time and cost. If the case is strong, we will do all we possibly can to present the client’s position in the very best way and to achieve the outcome which they deserve.
