We pride ourselves on producing practical solutions to our clients’ problems. We provide comprehensive advice in all areas including reserve, quantum, liability and tactics at an early stage.
Kelvin Farmaner, Partner and Unit Leader, qualified in 2000 having trained with Foot Anstey. He is a practitioner member of The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. He was appointed to The Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel in 2004. Kelvin is one of 2 lawyers at Foot Anstey with conduct of Mirvahedy v Henley which was decided in 2003 in the House of Lords (on which the Court defined the responsibilities of keepers of animals under Section 2 of the Animals Act 1971). This has led Kelvin to establish a niche practice in dealing with claims involving animals and instructions have been received from UK based insurers to defend such cases.
In addition, Kelvin also acts for major French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian insurers via their UK claims handling agents.
James Parsons has acted in insurance work since qualification in 1972, representing major domestic and European insurers in Defendant work. For over 25 years he has specialised in the European insurance market.
The most recent edition of the independent directory Chambers UK comments on the team and its lawyers as follows:
The Firm: This team undertakes some highly specific work: one of the few groups in the South West to work for European insurers, ... Foot Anstey recently merged with Truro firm Hancock Caffin to bring further expertise to the team. Chambers 2009
The Lawyers: Kelvin Farmaner’s “excellent technical knowledge and experience inform his well-rounded approach.” Chambers 2009
