Sports Conference 2009
Sporting organisations and regulators from across the region have the opportunity to update themselves on the very latest legal developments facing the sector at a high-profile conference on Thursday June 25 chaired by a former international athlete.
The 5000-metre runner Jack Buckner, who won medals at the Commonwealth Games, World Championships and European Championships before going on to become marketing director at Adidas in New York, will join up with the dedicated Sports Law team at Foot Anstey for the event.
They will address some of the key issues facing the South West’s sporting community such as the implications of the World Anti-Doping Code; securing and managing sponsorship during the credit crunch; dealing with on-field and off-field incidents; child protection and tax issues.
The conference will be held at Salt Quay House, Foot Anstey’s prestigious new Plymouth office at Sutton Harbour from 10.00 am-12.30 pm. To book your place please contact Mandy Lilley on 01752 675136 or book online at www.footanstey.com/events. There is no charge to attend the conference although delegates will be asked to make a donation to Children’s Hospice South West.
Julian Summerhayes, Head of Sports law at Foot Anstey, said "I am delighted that we are teaming up with Jack Buckner to look at the topical legal issues facing senior figures involved in sport from across the South West.
"It is a great opportunity for everybody to come together here at Foot Anstey, share best practice, and raise money for a very worthy regional charity."
