Smart Litigation - The Dawn Of A New Era

The dawn of a new era – oh please! (Not quite but something different …)

You have a hundred and one things on your mind:

  • The end of the financial year
  • Staff costs
  • Winning that new contract
  • Internal review of policy
  • Health and safety
  • How to maintain forward sales momentum
  • Funding for R&D

Frankly, the list is ENDLESS…   Your immediate question is:

“Why should I read yet another article; I don’t have time to read the newspaper or the latest internal memo, so why should I spend my (precious) time reading this?”

Good question.

The thing is that lawyers – particularly those of a contentious persuasion – rely, unfortunately, on generating work from things that go wrong, something that could have been managed better or in fending off the latest round of complaints.

We still do all of those, but what we increasingly look to do is to get under the skin of your business, to understand your culture and operation, so that you feel comfortable in picking up a phone and just asking for good old fashioned advice – and without that wretched meter starting to tick…

The aim of Smart Litigation is to open up the debate and inform you about the role of dispute resolution and how your business can be managed and operated to avoid disputes.
We will be posting our bulletin each week and we hope that even if you do not have the time to read it then that you might print it off and read it later.

Our experience is that nearly all businesses in the South West do not have the resource (and some would say need) to recruit an in-house specialist but that is exactly how we would like to be perceived – a genuine extension of your business. You should feel at ease in talking about issues that may be business critical but can sometimes be quite mundane.

Our promise - No jargon. No nonsense. Just smart advice and tips.
