Environmental issues
As a business located and operating throughout one of the most beautiful parts of the country, we are well aware of our responsibilities to do everything we can to safeguard this for future generations by reducing our carbon footprint. We of course implement all relevant environmental legislation.
Wherever possible we seek to reduce our energy consumption and our moves into new offices over recent years has enabled us to make better use of natural light through open plan lay-outs, by using modern energy efficient office machinery.
In planning our new Plymouth office,
we are ensuring it meets the latest environmental standards and incorporates many energy saving devices.
Like most major businesses we recycle toner cartridges and IT equipment and we re-use paper whenever possible.
We use local suppliers wherever possible and we encourage our staff to lift share, particularly when travelling to other offices, or use public transport.
Community support
The fact that our partners and staff live and work in the south west provides added emphasis to our commitment to support the communities of the region.
This ranges from our lawyers undertaking a range of pro bono work and giving up time to support community projects to firm wide fund raising efforts and sponsorship designed to help regional activities flourish.
The firm supports a number of regional charities linked to the locations in which we are based and which are Cornwall Community Foundation (Truro), Devon Air Ambulance (Exeter), Somerset Institute for the Blind (Taunton) and St Luke’s Hospice (Plymouth).
